A set of dice and a classic deck of cards offer endless gaming possibilities. Our elegantly packaged games are perfect as a gift or as a complement to your own game collection. Here, we have gathered some suggestions for entertaining games with simple rules to gather the whole family around

Ship, Captain, Crew

A classic dice game with strategic elements. The goal is to assemble a ship, appoint a captain, and crew it. For two or more players.

You need: Five six-sided dice per player, one sheet of paper for each player.

How to play: Each player has three rolls to try to assemble a ship, appoint a captain, and crew it.

To assemble a ship, the player must roll a 6 on one of the dice. A ship earns 1 point. To appoint a captain, the player must roll a 5 on one of the remaining dice. A captain earns 1 point. The remaining dice are used to crew the ship. Each die represents a crew member, and the player writes down the sum of these dice as points (1-4 points).

The player adds up the points for the ship, captain, and crew for each round.

If the player fails to assemble a ship or appoint a captain, all points for that round are reset.

The first player to reach a predetermined point limit or total points wins the game.

100

A simple dice game for all ages where the goal is to be the first player to reach or exceed 100 points. For two or more players.

You need: Two six-sided dice.

How to play: Each player rolls both dice in their turn. Each rolled 1 scores 0 points for the round, and the player loses their turn. Each rolled 2 to 6 is added to the player's score for the round. The player can choose to stop rolling and add their round score to their total score.

Special rules:

  • If a player gets two 1s in the same roll, the player loses all points for the round and forfeits their turn.
  • If a player gets three 1s in the same roll, the player loses immediately and goes back to 0 points.

After each roll, the player must decide whether to roll again and increase their round score or end their turn and add the points to their total score. If a player rolls a 1, they lose all points for the round and end their turn.

The first player to reach or exceed 100 points wins the game.

Alternative ending rule:

If a player reaches or exceeds 100 points, all other players have one final turn to try to surpass the leading player's score. The highest score at the end of this round wins the game.

Spit

An intense card game for two players where the goal is to be the first to get rid of all their cards.

You need: A standard deck of cards without jokers.

Card values: Jack = 11 points, Queen = 12 points, King = 13 points, Ace = 1 point, other cards have their nominal values.

How to play: The cards are shuffled, and each player receives 20 cards. Each player has their own pile in front of them with the first three cards facing up.

Players take turns placing a card on their piles. The card must be one number higher or lower than the top card on the pile. If a player cannot play a card, they must pick up the entire pile and place the top card in their "stress pile." Each card in the pile earns one point.

The player who first gets rid of all their cards wins the round. The goal is to have as few points as possible.

Special rules:

  • If a player has three cards in a row with the same value in their pile, these are placed in the common "stress pile," and the opponent must pick up the entire pile.
  • If a player manages to play all their cards in a sequence (e.g., 5, 6, 7, 8), they choose one of their stress piles and give it to the opponent.

The game can be played in rounds, and the player who first reaches a predetermined point limit wins.

Crazy Eights

A fun and simple card game for two or more players that many have played as children. The goal is to have as few points as possible at the end of the game.

You need: A standard deck of cards without jokers.

Card values: Jack = 11 points, Queen = 12 points, King = 13 points, Ace = 14 points, other cards have their nominal values.

How to play: Each player receives five cards if there are four or more players. If there are two or three players, give each player five cards. The remaining cards form a pile in the middle with the top card face up next to the pile.

Players take turns playing a card on the pile that matches either the color or the number on the top card. If a player cannot or does not want to play a matching card, they must pick up a card from the deck.

Crazy Eights: When an eight is played, the game direction changes, and the player chooses a color for the game to continue in. The next player must then play a card of the chosen color or another eight.

The first player to get rid of all their cards shouts "Crazy Eights!" and wins the round.

The game can also be played in multiple rounds, with the player with the lowest total points after a predetermined number of rounds winning the game.
